arsenal lost yet again. at home they play like they have a good shot at wresting the title back from chelski and their sugar daddy abramo-rich. away from home, they play like sunderland, and coupled wif terrible luck and terrible officiating, the result is small teams with no right to even have a sniff at arsenal end up grinding out results like everton did last night.

james beattie did very well to score everton's winner in the 13th minute, credit to him. however, the way our defence tried to prevent him from getting a sniff at goal was terrible. wait a minute. i said "tried". they didn't actually.

a long hopeful ball from some evertonian who probably had no intention of actually playing the ball to beattie, just pumping the ball and hoping like some amateur 10-year-old that it would fall for a teammate. and it did. beattie bulldozed his way past both campbell and senderos easily and dinked it over lehmann when he came out and tried to deal with the situation. no offence to beattie, but that goal is hardly gonna be considered a great/classic goal and questions must be asked about our defence. i know that kolo toure and eboue are away at the african nations cup and that has affected our defence, with kerrea gilbert given his premiership debut at rightback and lauren switched over to the left, but a central defensive pairing of senderos and campbell shud not have made an error like that. shameful.

and our attack was woefully inefficient. probing and probing and probing but with no end-product except for that fantastic move which saw ljungberg's shot parried onto the post. so so unlucky for him, still waiting for his first goal of the season.

anyway i think gilbert had a good debut and i think arsenal are dam unlucky bcos we have so many capable right backs, but on the left...what can i say. we have lauren, eboue, gilbert, toure if needed, on the right, but then on the left, we have ashley cole and gael clichy, who're both injured. and beyond those two? CYGAN! pascal "zinedine" cygan. who sux.

and i think arsenal cannot achieve second place in the league anymore. theyre too far behind liverpool and i think realistically, we shud be aming for 3rd/4th. but this is a season of transition for wenger's wonkers, and i believe next year we will be stronger than ever, provided we get a world-class central midfielder to kick gilberto from the team.

mark my words.
